Route description Jauerling round 02: Aggsbach Markt-Maria Laach
In Aggsbach Markt, we follow the main road uphill towards Jauerling. Shortly before the town’s end, we turn right and hike up to the Bireben plateau. At the end of the plateau, we enter the Schildgraben, which leads us up to Seeb. We pass the Seeber biotope, cross the road, and then hike on a farm road to the hamlet Schlaubing. In the village, we keep right and, at the next intersection, follow the right branch towards Litzendorf, where we meet the Wachau World Heritage Trail. At the first house in the village, we go left up to the Litzendorf Kreuzstöckerl, where we can take a comfortable break. Our path then leads down to the main road, which we cross, and we continue to the left past the cemetery to the market square of Maria Laach. After visiting the impressive Gothic pilgrimage church with a six-fingered Madonna and the picturesque Kerblerhaus, we end the stage in a relaxed way.

Author's tip
Recommended is the 24/7 farm shop in Maria Laach in the Kerblerhaus in the town center, open around the clock and daily with fine regional delicacies (for the hearty hiking snack) and souvenirs produced around the Jauerling. Furthermore: outdoor seating area, children's play and coffee corner
There are many interesting themed and circular hiking trails in the Jauerling Nature Park.
