Edelberg-Rundweg
Hiking tour Starting from
- Difficulty: Easy
- Distance: 4,94 km
- Duration: 1:45 h
- Ascent: 280 m elevation gain
- Descent: 280 m elevation gain
Nestled between the wooded slopes and ditches of the Jauerling lies "Accusabah", the medieval name of Aggsbach-Markt, directly on the Danube between Emmersdorf and Spitz. We start our approx. 5 km hike from the market square, which takes us through extensive forests to the Edelberg and Glatzberg. We pass the Fensterfelsen rock and take a forest road back down into the valley, where we follow an idyllic trail along the natural Endlingbach stream to Aggsbach-Markt. At the end of our tour, the parish church "Mariä Himmelfahrt" awaits us, a late Romanesque pillar basilica from the 13th century, which was a popular place of pilgrimage until the 18th century. The hiking trail (no. 18) is uniformly signposted with yellow signs throughout.
