This extremely challenging tour starts in Maria Laach, leads through apricot orchards and vineyards to Schwallenbach, includes the ascent of the Hochjauerling and leads through the Spitzer Graben back to Maria Laach.
From the pilgrimage site of Maria Laach, we travel via forest roads to the "Venus village" of Willendorf. There we visit the site and museum of the world-famous "Venus of Willendorf". We then ride past numerous apricot orchards and vineyards to Schwallenbach, from where we take a wild and romantic dirt road back to Maria Laach. Once there, we climb the Hochjauerling via quiet forest roads, which gives us a fantastic view of the Danube valley. Now we ride into the Spitzer Graben, where we admire the steep wine terraces, before heading back towards the Jauerling to the Nonnersdorfer Kreuz. From there, we cycle back to Maria Laach via quiet villages and paths that repeatedly offer views of the Danube valley.
