Details for: MTB Jauerling - Route 13 - Katzental loop

Brief description

ATTENTION: Due to logging operations, the ski lift road to Jauerling is closed until the end of October 2025!

This route excites ambitious mountain bikers. From Maria Laach to Hochjauerling, over the romantic Heuweg to Spitz, past the Nonnersdorfer Cross with constant views of the Danube on the way back.

Description

From the pilgrimage site Maria Laach, we ride to Hochjauerling, where we can enjoy the entire panorama of the Danube valley. Over the wild romantic Heuweg, we reach the wine town of Spitz and from there along the Danube to Schwallenbach. Now it goes over the unpaved country road to Gießhübl, where we can admire a medieval fortified tower. Back in Maria Laach, we ride over forest roads to the Nonnersdorfer Cross and from there through quiet villages and paths that repeatedly offer a view into the Danube valley, back to Maria Laach.
