Relax and enjoy the Wachau!

Thanks to the Wachau's public mobility concept, the region can be easily reached and experienced without a car. Buses run every hour on the north bank and every two hours on the south bank. The three Danube ferries make it possible to switch between the north and south banks at any time.

With the Wachau day ticket, you can use the buses on lines 715, 717, 718, 719 and 720, 721 between Melk and Krems for just € 12 for one day. In addition, the use of the three Danube ferries for passengers is included (costs for vehicles are to be paid separately). For children up to the age of 15, the day ticket costs € 6.

Bus connections:

  • 715 Left bank of the Danube Krems - Dürnstein - Weißenkirchen - Spitz - Willendorf - Aggsbach - Emmersdorf - Melk
  • 717 Campus shuttle Krems train station - Campus - Kunstmeile Krems
  • 718 Spitzer Graben Spitz - Mühldorf - and during the week via Raxendorf to Pöggstall
  • 719 runs from the Waldviertel via Spitz and Melk to St. Pölten and back
  • 720 Right bank of the Danube Krems - Mautern - Rossatz - Arnsdorf - Aggstein - Aggsbach - Schönbühel - Melk
  • 721 connects the Wachau Railway between Emmersdorf and Melk with the Western Railway line and takes you to Schallaburg Castle

Ferries:

  • Spitz-Arnsdorf ferry, all year round
  • Ferry Weißenkirchen-St. Lorenz, April to November 1st
  • Dürnstein-Rossatz ferry, April to mid-October (one crossing!)

The day ticket can be purchased on the above-mentioned bus lines and at the information points in Krems, Spitz and Melk.

In combination with the NÖ Card ("Car-free in the Wachau" campaign), the Wachau day ticket is available free of charge once per season at the information points in Krems, Spitz and Melk from April 1 to October 31 during opening hours. Further information.
