Garten der Wachau

Outdoor adventure

Description

The Wachau gardeners present the unique character of the Wachau as a river, wine and cultural landscape.

The Wachau - the Danube valley between Melk and Krems - is the only landscape in Austria to be recognized by UNESCO as a World Hertige site. In addition to well-known monuments such as the Melk, Dürnstein and Göttweig Abbeys and the historic towns of Melk, Dürnstein, Mautern and Krems, it is above all the traditional wine terraces and orchards that make the Wachau a unique region.

This poses a particular challenge for gardeners, garden planners, horticulturists, landscapers and tree nurseries. They are important service providers in preserving the historical heritage for future generations. They unearth old knowledge, combine it with the latest research findings and pass it on to our heirs. An important part of this is, of course, the famous Wachau apricot.
