Long-distance hiking trail on the Wachau World Heritage Trail

Hiking in a unique natural scenery

In the Wachau World Heritage Site, those seeking relaxation will find a precious treasure: the Wachau World Heritage Trail. Nowhere else can the Danube be discovered more beautifully. Along 180 km north and south of the Danube, the Wachau World Heritage Trail lies like a ribbon between the 13 municipalities of the Wachau UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the observation bench, the view of the Danube valley makes you forget all the stress of everyday life. Joy as far as the eye can see: river and forest alternate. An abundance of castles, palaces and ruins await with history along the way, amid vineyards and steep stone terraces, as well as the Jauerling, the highest mountain in the Danube region with a height of 960 m.
