A moderately challenging bike route through the quiet and peaceful landscape of the Waldviertel, passing idyllic villages on calm forest and woodland paths.

Description

Start is on Rolandgasse in Weiten, along the B216 to the sports field, through forest and woodland paths to Mollendorf. Continue via the farm road to the Hubertus chapel, then L7226 to Seiterndorf, following L7223 towards Weiten. Turn onto a field path to the viewpoint Spielerkreuz. Over field and forest paths to Lohsdorf, on forest roads over the Roman bridge to Aichau, then on L7231 to Eitental. Along B216 to Fahnsdorf, continuing to Kuffarn and Filsendorf and on L7136 to Zehentegg. The Three Churches hiking trail leads to Heiligenblut, then on bike paths along L81 and B216 back to Rolandgasse.

Starting point Rolandgasse - B216 to sports field - forest and woodland paths to Mollendorf - farm road to Hubertus chapel - L7226 to Seiterndorf - L7223 towards Weiten - after intersection Mörenz turn right onto field path (viewpoint Spielerkreuz about 300m towards Weiten) - field and forest path to Lohsdorf - forest road over Roman bridge to Aichau - L7231 to Eitental - bike path along B216 to intersection Fahnsdorf - then to Kuffarn - Filsendorf - Nonnersdorf - L7136 to Zehentegg - Three Churches hiking trail to Heiligenblut - bike path along L81 to Am Schuß - bike path along B216 to Weiten Rolandgasse.

Directions

Drive along the Austrian Romantic Road B3 to Weitenegg, then turn into the Weiten valley and follow the B216.
