Barrierefreie Aussichtsplattform Braunegg

Lookout tower, Scenic lookout

Description

A place of power for everyone - at the "summit" of Braunegg: At an altitude of 911 meters above sea level, the barrier-free viewing platform in Braunegg offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Schneeberg - Ötscher - Traunstein (Gmunden) - Bad Traunstein - Gföhl - to the southern edge of the Waldviertel plateau and the Jauerling, which is right at eye level with its red-white-red transmission mast. A telescope at the highest point of the viewing platform's covered resting place enhances this magnificent view.

The barrier-free viewing platform is located at Thie-Platz near the sports field north of Braunegg, where the Ysper-Weitental circular hiking trail no. 22 crosses the Traunfellnerweg trail no. 64. Numerous smaller and larger exhibits, such as display boards, a wooden fountain, wooden owls, iron ants, giant balls made of willow, glass fusions, parts of the former ski lift and a knight's armor of the evil knight of the Ysper-Weitental.The exhibition tells the history and legends of the region and is proof of the creativity and craftsmanship of the villagers. "Professor Lux" also explains and informs young visitors with information boards suitable for children and encourages them to join in.

A playground right next to the platform also provides fun and games for the youngest visitors.
